The IASB is developing a series of investor-focused educational webcasts in collaboration with the CFA Institute. These webcasts are designed to keep investors and analysts up to date on today’s major accounting issues.
In the first webcast of the series, Fred Nieto (IASB Investor Education Manager) and Vincent Papa (Director, CFA Institute), discuss the goals, priorities and intended outreach of the IASB Investor Education Programme. View the webcast "What should investors expect?".
In the second webcast of the series, Fred Nieto, Vincent Papa and Pat Finnegan (IASB Board Member) discuss the effects of the accounting for various off balance sheet transactions during the financial crisis, the resulting amendments to the IASB’s consolidation and structured entities requirements, and what investors should expect from these changes. View the webcast "Off balance sheet accounting: plugging the loopholes".
Upcoming webcasts in the series will focus on the effects for investors of the IASB’s amendments to accounting for joint arrangements and the accounting for employee benefits.
These webcasts are part of the IASB’s new Investor
Education Programme, the latest in a series of steps taken by the
IASB to further engage with the investor community. The education programme is
led by Fred Nieto, the IASB's Investor Education Manager, whose previous
experience includes equity research and valuation for sell-side and buy-side
institutions. Fred is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter
holder.
