Call for members — IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group

The International Accounting Standards Board (Board) is seeking candidates to join the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group from 1 April 2019. The IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group contributes to the development of the IFRS Taxonomy by providing regular input on taxonomy-related issues.

More about the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group

The IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group was established by the Board to provide input on IFRS Taxonomy content and technology. During regular meetings, members discuss and advise on taxonomy-related matters. Members also review changes in the IFRS Taxonomy in-depth to assess their feasibility and decide whether the changes accurately reflect IFRS Standards' presentation and disclosure requirements.    

The IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group usually meets face-to-face in London for one day twice a year; additionally, members participate in about four one-hour conference calls a year, depending on the number and complexity of topics to be discussed.

Membership criteria

Members are drawn from a variety of business and geographical backgrounds. The Board is keen to appoint members with professional experience as preparers or users of electronic financial reports structured using the IFRS Taxonomy. Technical knowledge of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language is desirable, but not required.

In line with the IFRS Foundation's usual policy, members of the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group receive no pay and travel costs or other expenses are not reimbursed.
