Financial Accounting Foundation Announces Live Video Webcasting of FASB
Education Sessions
Norwalk, CT, March 7, 2011—The Financial
Accounting Foundation (FAF) today announced that it will begin live video
webcasting of all education sessions hosted by the Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB). Education sessions are public FASB meetings that allow
Board members to learn about financial reporting issues expected to be discussed
at an upcoming decision-making meeting and to consider alternative ways of
addressing them. Education sessions are usually held one week before a public
Board meeting is held on that same topic; no official FASB decisions are made at
education sessions. In December, the FAF began video webcasts of all FASB
decision-making meetings. The FAF is the independent, private-sector
organization responsible for the oversight of the FASB and the Governmental
Accounting Standards Board.
The first FASB education sessions to be video
webcast are
scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 9 following the weekly Board
meeting. Education session topics are posted
on the FASB website.
