NOTICE OF MEETINGS
OPEN BOARD MEETING
(Board
meetings are available by audio webcast and telephone.)
Wednesday, July 27, 2005, 1:00 p.m.
- Conceptual
framework. The Board will continue its discussion of issues relating
to the qualitative characteristics of financial information. The Board
also will discuss management’s stewardship and accountability
responsibilities and how those responsibilities relate to the objectives
of financial reporting and the Board’s conceptual framework for
financial reporting by business enterprises. (Estimated 2-hour
discussion.)
- Open discussion. If necessary, the Board will allow time to
discuss minor issues with staff members on technical projects or
administrative matters. Those discussions are held following regular
Board meetings as topics come up.
OPEN EDUCATION SESSION
Wednesday, July 27, 2005, 9:00 a.m.
The Board will hold an educational, non-decision-making session to
discuss topics that are anticipated to be discussed at the August 3, 2005
Board meeting. Those topics will be posted to the FASB calendar four
days prior to the education session.
OPEN MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE EDISON ELECTRIC
INSTITUTE
Monday, July 25, 2005, 2:30 p.m.
The Board will meet with representatives of the Edison Electric
Institute to discuss matters of mutual interest.

FASB DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE
Proposed
FSP FAS 13-b, “Accounting for Rental Costs Incurred during a
Construction Period,” was issued on July 19, 2005 and is available on the
FASB website. Comments are expected by August 18, 2005.
Proposed FSP FAS 140-c, “Clarification of the Application of Paragraphs
40(b) and 40(c) of FASB Statement No. 140,” is expected to be posted to
the FASB website by the end of business on July 21, 2005. Comments are
expected by August 22, 2005.
