GASB Adds Project to Its Agenda on Postponing Effective Dates of Certain Statements and Implementation Guides

The GASB has announced that it has added a new project to its technical agenda to consider whether to postpone the effective dates of all Statements and implementation guides that begin on or after June 15, 2018. The project is being added in response to concerns that “many government officials do not have access to the information necessary for implementing new GASB pronouncements” because of the closures of state and local governments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
