SEC Chairman Makes Statement on 2026 Regulatory Agenda

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has released a statement on the Commission’s 2026 regulatory agenda. Specific goals of the agenda that Mr. Atkins discusses include the following:

• Advancing President Trump’s objective of making the United States the “crypto capital of the world” by “embracing innovation to bring more products onshore, creating clear rules of the road for capital raising with crypto assets, and providing clarity as to how market participants can custody and facilitate trading of tokenized securities onchain.”
• Increasing the number of public companies by reducing compliance and disclosure burdens to catalyze initial public offerings.

Facilitating “retail investor participation in private markets while preserving their protection with appropriate safeguards.”
