PCAOB Requests Comments on Quality Control Standard

The PCAOB has released a supplemental request for comment that would make targeted amendments to its May 2024 standard QC 1000, A Firm’s System of Quality Control. The purpose of the proposed amendments would be to “improve coherence, where appropriate, with other quality management standards and [to] reduce compliance costs without compromising the PCAOB’s statutory mission to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.”
