PCAOB Announces Standing Advisory Group Meeting Nov. 30–Dec. 1

Agenda includes post-implementation review, audit committee interaction, inspection update, and supervision of other auditors

WASHINGTON, Nov. 16, 2016

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced that it will hold a meeting of its Standing Advisory Group in Washington on November 30 to December 1, 2016.

SAG members will be briefed on a post-implementation review program recently launched by the PCAOB's Center for Economic Analysis. The CEA is studying the overall effects of previously adopted PCAOB rules and standards.

There will be a panel discussion on effective interactions between auditors and audit committees. Updates will be provided on recent PCAOB inspection activities and the Board's recent proposal on the supervision of audits involving other auditors.

In addition, discussions will be held on PCAOB developments and standards-related projects, including projects that may be added to a research agenda being developed as an outcome of the standard-setting review discussed with the SAG in May 2016.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the FHI Conference Center at 1825 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC. The meeting also will be available via webcast on the PCAOB website and a recording will be made available in the archive.

The Standing Advisory Group advises the PCAOB on the development of auditing and related professional practice standards. The SAG includes investors, auditors, public company executives, and others. More information on the Standing Advisory Group is available on the PCAOB website.
