Trustees appoint Wang Haoyu to IFRS Advisory Council

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), announced today the appointment of Wang Haoyu as a representative of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) on the IFRS Advisory Council.  The IFRS Advisory Council is the formal advisory body to the Trustees and the IASB.

Ms Wang is an officer in the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). Before joining the CSRC, she was an auditor in the Accounting and Assurance Department of Ernst & Young, Hua Ming. She is a CPA with a master´s degree in management from Peking University.

Ms Wang´s appointment will commence with immediate effect. She will replace Alexsandro Broedel Lopes, who is stepping down from the Advisory Council.

Commenting on the announcement, Paul Cherry, Chairman of the IFRS Advisory Council said:

"We welcome Ms Wang´s appointment to the Advisory Council. Her experience and expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to advise the IASB and its Trustees on their work over a wide range of issues. I would also like to express my gratitude to Alexsandro Broedel Lopes for his contribution to our work."
