SEC Publishes Peak-Volume Document and Announces Holiday Closing Schedule
December 19, 2019
The SEC has published a document listing the dates on which it receives its highest
volume of Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) filings. The
Commission requests that filers submit any test filings as early as possible to
“accommodate potentially longer processing times during high-volume filing
periods.”
In addition, the SEC has announced that the EDGAR system will be closed on December 24
and 25, 2019, because of the federal government’s closure at that time. The
announcement notes that “[a]ny filings required to be made no later than December 24
or December 25, 2019 will be considered timely if filed on or before December 26,
2019.”
