SEC Issues Staff Statement on the Importance of Delivering Timely and Material Information to Investors

The SEC has posted to its Web site a staff statement by its Division of Investment Management (the “Division”). The statement emphasizes the Division’s focus on “ensuring that investment companies continue to meet their obligations under the federal securities laws to provide material and timely information to investors” and discusses (1) updating prospectuses and financial statements and (2) delivering information to fund investors.

The statement also highlights the SEC’s recent efforts to keep Main Street investors informed about their investments.
