2.16 Voting Interest Entity

The Codification does not define “voting interest entity,” but, in practice, the term has evolved to mean any entity that is not a VIE as defined in the previous section. Throughout this Roadmap, we refer to the analysis of a voting interest entity as the voting interest entity model. For guidance on applying the voting interest entity model, see Appendix D.
