SEC Chairman Sworn In
April 19, 2021
On April 14, 2021, the Senate confirmed Gary Gensler as chairman of the SEC. Mr.
Gensler succeeds Jay Clayton, whose tenure ended in December 2020. Mr. Gensler was
most recently professor of the practice of global economics and management at the
MIT Sloan School of Management. He previously served as chairman of the U.S.
Commodity Futures Trading Commission under the Obama administration.

On April 17, 2021, Mr. Gensler was sworn into
