SEC Acting Chief Accountant Discusses OCA’s Continued Focus on High-Quality Financial Reporting

On December 6, 2021, SEC Acting Chief Accountant Paul Munter issued a statement on the Office of the Chief Accountant’s (OCA’s) role in establishing high-quality financial reporting. The statement discusses (1) the OCA’s responsibilities and priorities related to “rulemaking activities, oversight of standard setting, implementation and application of standards, and application of auditor independence requirements” and (2) “the vital role of individual stakeholder groups [in promoting] a continued flow of high quality financial reporting to investors.”
