IAASB Votes to Release Proposed Sustainability Standard

The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) has unanimously approved the release of a proposed standard, International Standard on Sustainability Assurance 5000, General Requirements for Sustainability Assurance Engagements.

The proposed standard would “serve as a comprehensive, stand-alone standard suitable for limited and reasonable sustainability assurance engagements” and would “apply to sustainability information reported across any sustainability topic and prepared under multiple frameworks.”
