PCAOB Releases Spotlight Publication on 2023 Inspection Activities

The PCAOB has released a spotlight publication detailing the results of its inspections program during 2023. The report notes that, although deficiencies at audit firms have continued to rise, the PCAOB has “begun to see the aggregate deficiency rate at the Big Four [footnote omitted] firms level off, as well as improvements in the deficiency rates at several of the other annually inspected firms.”
