SEC Issues Final Rule on Submission of Certain Materials Under Securities Exchange Act of 1934
December 17, 2024
The SEC has issued a final rule that amends the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to,
among other things, “require the electronic filing or submission on the Commission’s
Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (‘EDGAR’) system, using
structured data where appropriate, for certain forms filed or submitted by
self-regulatory organizations.”
The final rule will become effective 60 days after the date of its publication in
the Federal Register. For more information, see the press
release and fact
sheet — as well as statements by SEC Chair Gary Gensler and Commissioners Mark Uyeda and Hester Peirce — on the SEC’s Web
site.
