IIA Releases Global Internal Audit Standards

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has released a new set of global internal audit standards. The new standards, which supersede the 2017 International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, contain “15 guiding principles that enable effective internal auditing [and that are] supported by . . . requirements, considerations for implementation, and examples of evidence of conformance.”

The standards will become effective on January 9, 2025, and early adoption is encouraged. For more information, see the press release on the IIA’s Web site.
