CAQ Releases Publication on U.S. Financial Restatement Trends From 2013 to 2022

The CAQ has released a publication that discusses the results of its analysis of financial restatements (i.e., error corrections in financial statements that public companies file with the SEC) over the period from 2013 to 2022. The publication notes that, in addition to being “a measure of financial reporting quality,” restatement trends “may provide some insight into how the financial reporting ecosystem is managing factors that can affect the risk of material misstatement.”
