FASB Releases PMAC Meeting Recap

The FASB has posted to its Web site the meeting recap for the November 13, 2025, meeting of the Board’s Public Markets Advisory Committee (PMAC). Topics discussed at the meeting included:

• An update on the current projects on the Board’s technical agenda, including the accounting for debt exchanges, the accounting for environmental credit programs, the accounting for government grants, the initial measurement of paid-in-kind dividends on equity-classified preferred stock, and hedge accounting improvements.
• Feedback on certain topics addressed in the Board’s January 2025 invitation to comment Agenda Consultation.
• The Private Company Council’s research projects on (1) subjective acceleration clauses and (2) leases.
• Challenges with applying the current guidance on derivatives.
• Postimplementation review of the Board’s standard on current expected credit losses.
• Effects of the use of technology, including artificial intelligence, on standard setting.
