SEC Releases Annual Staff Report on NRSROs

The staff in the SEC’s Office of Credit Ratings has released its annual report on nationally recognized statistical rating organizations (NRSROs), also known as credit rating agencies. The purpose of the report is to summarize the Commission’s findings from its examinations of NRSROs and to discuss “the state of competition, transparency, and conflicts of interest” among these organizations.
