GASB Issues Proposal on Infrastructure Assets

The GASB has released an exposure draft of a proposed Statement, Infrastructure Assets. The proposed Statement would enhance “guidance related to the definition, recognition, and measurement of infrastructure assets, as well as associated note disclosures and required supplementary information schedules.” The proposal’s overall purpose is to help state and local governmental entities apply the financial reporting requirements related to infrastructure assets more consistently.
