SEC Staff Releases Statement on Affiliations Between Broker-Dealers and National Securities Exchanges

The staff in the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets has released a statement on “the affiliation between registered national securities exchanges and entities that engage in broker-dealer activities on those exchanges.” The statement’s purpose is to respond to market participants’ “potential questions” regarding national securities exchanges that operate affiliated broker-dealers.

The SEC is requesting feedback from interested parties on the statement via either the Commission’s online submission form or by sending an e-mail to rule-comments@sec.gov.
