FASB Releases Investor Education Video on Convertible Instruments

The FASB has posted to its Web site an investor education video on its August 2020 accounting standard related to convertible instruments. The video provides details on how the standard may affect a company’s financial reports. Specifically, the video explains “how the guidance simplifies the accounting for convertible instruments and improves relevance and comparability of information available to investors.” Further, the video contains examples on “how the standard will impact the income statement, earnings-per-share calculations, and other related areas.”
