SEC Releases Proposed Rule Related to EDGAR System

The SEC has released a proposed rule that would amend the requirements for “access to and management of accounts on the Commission’s Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system (‘EDGAR’) that are related to potential technical changes to EDGAR.” Among other changes, the proposal would “require that electronic filers (‘filers’) authorize and maintain designated individuals as account administrators and that filers, through their account administrators, take certain actions to manage their accounts on a dashboard on EDGAR.” For more information, see the press release and the statement by SEC Chair Gary Gensler on the SEC’s Web site.
