Mark Uyeda Appointed Acting SEC Chairman

         The SEC has announced that President Trump has appointed Mark Uyeda as acting
            chairman of the SEC. Previously, Mr. Uyeda served as a commissioner for the agency,
            having been sworn in on June 30, 2022, as well as an SEC staff member (beginning in
            2006).
        In a separate statement, the SEC also announced the January 20, 2025, departure
            of former SEC Chair Gary Gensler from the agency.
