FASB Releases FASAC Meeting Recap

The FASB has posted to its Web site the meeting recap for the September 18, 2025, meeting of the Board’s Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC). Topics discussed at the meeting included:

• Stakeholder feedback received on the FASB’s January 2025 invitation to comment (ITC), Agenda Consultation, including key topics addressed in the ITC such as the equity method of accounting, consolidation for business entities, asset retirement obligations, and distinguishing liabilities from equity.
• The effects of technology on standard setting.
• The FASB’s postimplementation review project related to its standard on current expected credit losses.
