SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee Holds Meeting
June 8, 2026
The SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee held a meeting on June 4, 2026. In his opening
remarks at the meeting, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins began by congratulating the new IAC
members who were just appointed, including those on the IAC’s executive committee.
Specifically, he commended them for providing their expertise to help the Commission
in its mission to protect investors and strengthen the capital markets.
Mr. Atkins also briefly commented on the two panels that were held at the meeting.
The first panel addressed the expansion of “retail access to private markets,”
including strategies for improving investors’ understanding of topics such as
redemption gates, valuation methods, and fee structures. The second panel discussed
“the increasing concentration of voting power in passive investment vehicles and its
effects on investor protection.”
