PCAOB Releases Amendments to Quality Control Standard
September 9, 2026
The PCAOB has released amendments to its quality control
standard, QC 1000, that are aimed at addressing the challenges firms have
encountered with implementing the standard. The Board’s goal in releasing the
amendments is to “reduce compliance costs while maintaining the investor protection
benefits of QC 1000.”
The effective date of QC 1000 remains unchanged (i.e., December 15, 2026). The
amendments will go into effect at the same time, subject to SEC approval.
