SEC Proposes Rule Related to Registered Transfer Agents

The SEC has released a proposed
rule that would modernize “the rules and forms that apply to
registered transfer agents.” Such agents are a “key component of the national clearance
and settlement system, performing critical functions related to the securities lifecycle
that help protect investors and support the prompt and accurate processing of securities
transactions.”
